Went to the early show and in addition to what other’s have already mentioned, they played:

    Crimson and Clover w/Wild Thing
    Let’s Go

Would also love to get the complete set list!

BTW, this was my first time seeing Prince. I was 15 feet from the stage. Best. Show. Ever. I feel incredibly lucky.

To add to Michael’s list, In the early show on night 2, he covered The Cars Let’s Go after endorphomachine. I think in tribute to Boston. The show rocked.

I was at the DNA for the 2nd show on the 2nd night & had a BLAST!!! I loved the setlist, (sorry, I can’t add any to those tunes listed above). I was glad Prince/3rdEG only played the big hits in a medley. We’ve all heard those songs plenty. Great to hear the more “obscure” hits in their entirety. I also loved seeing Prince’s expressions, his smile, his energy & the whole band having a great time together 🙂 the energy was palpable & the experience so much more moving than watching the jumbo-tron.
So excited to be going to The Grove for another fix. Please keep it comin’, Prince. Oui LOVE U!!
& U 2, Doc! Love to come here, where I can always get the inside scoop. I was the only one of my Bay Area friends able to get tix to the DNA show, all thanx to U, Doc. I hope I see you in Anaheim! <3 (:
Lovin' & funkin' all the way to LA! xoxox Miss Cookie

Funny, that there are mentions of several teases, but nothing about Frankenstein? (2nd set, 2nd night…)

Some thoughts on Day 2 – “Early Show”… and yes, my brain is fried, and I’m running out the door to make the 3.5 hour drive to San Jose for another show tonight… April is a killer….

I’m working on an article for my own site on the Early Show from last night, and was hoping to find the set list here… I did record (horrible quality with my phone) the audio from the encore, and pieced together as best as I could here (also put in times on the sample set to give an idea on that as well):

    Encore 1:

    – Purple Rain (vocals and on keyboard)
    – Adore (vocals and on keyboard)

    Encore 2:

    – When The Doves Cry (sampler with vocals, sing along, with Alphabet St. “Nooo” samples cut in) 0:18-1:50
    – Nasty Girl (sampler) 1:51-2:15
    – Sign O’ The Times (sampler with vocals, sing along “ooo-e-ooo, ooohhh…”, Alphabet St. “Nooo” samples cut in) 2:16-5:20
    – Hot Thing (sampler with vocals, Alphabet St. “Nooo” samples cut in) 5:21-6:51

Chant: “Ain’t no party like a Frisco party, and a Frisco party don’t stop!”

    – A Love Bizarre (sampler with vocals, Sheila E Cover) 7:30-8:09
    – Houequake (sampler with vocals, sing along) 8:10-10:17

2nd Show 2 Night. Loved meeting this new Prince! “Do you like Funk in your Rock,” Prince. Yes, and it was fantastic! But for me, don’t care too much for sing-along with audience–Just want to hear the Prince. Very grateful to attend, and wish every fan could’ve seen him perform in DNA small venue. Truly missed the fans who could not make this performance due to budget or schedule. Thank you DNA.

What a great setlist! I will bring the energy to Tempe for sure (my friends will bring energy along with)!

So much of it is educating the crowd. Lead by example. It is easy to say I have never been more pumped to see a concert than 3rd Eye Girl!

I went to the 2nd show of the 1st night and it was amazing! As far as the rookie comments go, who cares! Not everyone there is a super diehard Prince fan. There are people who appreciate music and a musical genius but don’t necessarily consider Prince to be their favorite artist. The first night was a lot more unorganized on DNA’s part. They worked out a lot of issues and tried a different method of getting people in on the second night, which was a lot more efficient.

All in all, I was blown away and Prince exceeded my expectations. He’s a true musician and takes his craft very serious, you can’t go wrong!

As far as people going to future shows, they were throwing people out left and right for taking photos and video and making them delete it. So I highly recommend you all keep your phones away!

comment on above. copy you on the rookie front. people in line asking questions about they does it take to long to wait, will he play the hits, etc. love all these fake hipsters who probably have never heard of Chaos & Disorder or let alone Rainbow Children. but alas us the true fans got to hear some Sign O the Times joints. etc. Would love more from 3rd eye. but not going to complain. great night. great show. was at the 2nd show. 2nd nite.

I was at all four shows. Some comments: the poster above is correct in that the majority of the audiences were definitely, er, ‘inexperienced’. I heard a lot of freshman comments throughout both nights like, ‘How come he only played his hits in the medley?’ Etc. I want to clarify one point: the shows were all very crowded, this is true, but it was technically NOT oversold. It was sold to the legal capacity of the venue. The DNA are sticklers for things like that. I also agree with the above poster that the best show was probably the first show of the first night. The second show of the first night was solid and (IMHO) the first show of the second night was a bit meh, but the last show was great. The first song of the first set from last night was Guitar.

    A couple things I noticed:
1-lots of rookies showed up bummed that the vets were lined up, some even complained to staff and suggested they break up the line.
2-it was really packed, some people left early due to the fact that it was oversold. One person even said “it’s too loud!” (Aye dios mio)
3-Prince wasn’t feeling it as much on the last show and was relying on the fans to pump him up-I don’t think we (not me) delivered.
4-the DNA club sold VIP passes (6 gs) where you can get in early and sit at tables in a group. Those people got in early abandoned their tables and went to the floor. Mostly stiff yuppies. And most of them wanted to hear the hits, and also complaining it was loud.

I think the second night was great, but couldn’t compete with the first show on the first night. I think the energy wasn’t there on the crowds part. So no knock to Princey, he was working his ass off-just the crowd was weak, and I think people were bummed because the club was oversold and packed.

Personally, the sampler set was too long. It’s not my favorite. I see 3rd Eye Girl waiting restlessly (during the sampler set) and I wanted him to just unleash them. I do like that he ended it the set with Stratus to cleanse our palettes before we left and give us something to chew on. All and all a great set, and I love the arrangements and vibe he’s bringing.

He’s in a great groove… And rocking so hard

Extremely crowded and hard to see, not worth it — even for Prince.

For the first show he played an altered version of So Far So Pleased that was awesome!
