24 May EXCLUSIVE: A Taste Of Prince & 3rdEyeGirl Covering “Even Flow” By Pearl Jam
Wow.
As we posted yesterday, PRINCE & 3rdEyegirl have been rehearsing an instrumental version of “Even Flow” by Pearl Jam for The Myth this Saturday in Minneapolis.
This version features a guitar duel between PRINCE & Donna Grantis that morphs into Aretha Franklin’s version of “Rock Steady” before reprising the end vamp of “Even Flow”.
Well, as promised, we were able to grab a snippet of PRINCE & 3rdEyeGirl rehearsing “Even Flow” by Pearl Jam, which you can listen to below!

That doesn’t mean I have to agree and I thought the forum was used for honest opinions and feedback. So are you now going to start defending when the fans don’t agree? You need to come correct.

Stop trying to be eye spy. Just because you don’t agree with the comment doesn’t mean it isn’t valid. I thought that was what the forum was for. People should be able to post their opinions in an open forum without thinking you are trying to track them down.

Posted at 22:43h, 24 MayI am a huge Prince fan and I don’t really care about him doing a cover song. I want to see Prince, do Prince songs! He had so many hits why not do those.
I chose not to get tickets to the show and I live close. The venue is in a terrible location. The prices are high to go see Prince with 3 girls that can’t sing. Plus I am an old fan and since Prince prefers young people let them go to this show. Looks like your 22 year old manager made a bad decision but that’s what you get when you go with people who lack business skills.

Posted at 20:15h, 24 MayI truly believe that when the History books are written, the material of Prince and 3rdEyeGirl will be well sought after. Classic, refreshing, and there’s no doubt these people take what they do serious. Wondering if it’s the 535q or CAE 404 that’s moving me. Great piece!

I suspect some of the need for covers comes from him working with musicians who can’t really recreate a lot of his catalog.

I live in Austin, Tx., was on the city bus yesterday, & Paul McCartney passed in front of us after the police blocked us from traveling. Our bus driver hollared out “Paul McCartney!”. I was writing on my notebook, & only saw Paul McCartney’s arm & hand waving out of the escalade he was riding in. Ugh!
After the excitement of Paul simmered on the bus, I brought up the subject of Prince comin here to play at SXSW.
One guy said, along with myself, that we would have sat outside jus to hear the music, if we were not allowed in.
Anotha guy said he had some friends who snuck in to see Prince at SXSW, by sayin they were part of the cookin staff.
Gotta love ATX!(Austin Texas).
