08 Mar PRINCE Thanks Bobby Z. For His Support; Info On MyPurpleHeart.Org Event
Bobby Z., formerly of the Revolution, is having an all star line up for his MyPurpleHeart.Org charity organization tomorrow night at 1st Avenue in Minneapolis. Questlove will also be doing a special DJ set there Friday night.
His former boss, as Bobby calls him, PRINCE had a message for Bobby this week on our Spreecast show:
“PRINCE would like to thank Bobby Z. for his continued support and pledges his friendship for eternity. All the best.”
Very cool.
The Saturday event will star the tribute performance “Princess” featuring Maya Rudolph (of SNL fame) and Gretchen Lieberum , followed by a celebrity-filled concert including Questlove (of The Roots on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon ), Andre Cymone, Dez Dickerson , Dr. Fink, Alexander O’Neal, Stokley (of Mint Condition), Nicholas David (Minnesota contestant from The Voice) and more surprise celebrity guest artists.
For more information on MyPurpleHeart.org and for tickets to the event, click on the links provided.
Bobby joined us on Spreecast before to talk about the event and his days playing with PRINCE & The Revolution, which you can watch above.
We will have another PRINCE Spreecast this Wed. that you can join by clicking HERE. We will be discussing all the news on PRINCE and any late-breaking news as well.-DocFB

Posted at 19:36h, 09 MarchBobby Z. is indeed a class act. He’s very special. He has an aura around him. U can feel it! I felt it right thru my computer screen at that spreecast. I can just IMAGINE how it feels to be in the same room with him. All love. I love Bobby Z!

Posted at 11:36h, 09 MarchI agree with the “class act” comments. I watched the live spreecast with Bobby Z, and felt he was a down to earth, and humble man. I hope he continues to get healthier each day. I’d love to see/hear Bobby involved with future musical projects. With Prince, or anyone he would like to jam with. Much respect to Bobby Z!
