12 Oct PRINCE’s New Song “Rock & Roll Love Affair” Debuts On European Radio; On Sale November 2nd
Purple Music will be distributing the new PRINCE single “Rock & Roll Love Affair” in Europe and other countries starting November 2nd. The single is debuting on European radio starting today. The cover above is for radio promo only.
Purple Music distributed “Dance 4 Me” remixes last year for Prince. Purple Music made the announcement via it’s Facebook Page early this morning.
The announcement of the single being released on vinyl, CD, and digital single was made by the Swiss site 20 Minutes Online with the full version of “Rock & Roll Love Affair” for you to play, which we have included below.
I do find it interesting that the “Purple Rain” font of Prince’s name was used. Maybe a throwback to that or something else.
There was a video shot for this last month but word when that video will debut or where. Not sure of this being released in the U.S. the way it is being distributed through Purple Music, but I imagine it could be purchased as an import after it’s release overseas.
What do you think of the cover and song?-DocFB
Diagnosis: Jamie Lewis of Purple Music contacted us. The artwork above is for the radio promotion and is NOT the artwork that will be used for the single cover.

Posted at 04:32h, 01 NovemberFirst let me ask WhisperingSoul one thing…did you like the song or not? Cause isn’t that’s why we are here to post? Either you dig it or you don’t. But if you are seeing demons at night it’s probably cause you got your eyes closed too tight.
Now on to my opinion. I really did like the song. It reminded me a little of Hot Summer (like it would belong on the same album). Maybe it’s cause I was born in 1970 and had a more peripherial view of that decade, but this song reminds me of that decade, but at the same time seems filtered through Prince’s more updated sound. It has that feel good vibe of the “have a nice day” period but with latter day rock sensibilities. Maybe that also explains his new hair. I get more of a sly and the family stone vibe from this song. Which makes it cooler. It’s also interesting that peoople who say this is bland, as they said the same thing about Hot Summer. I find less of a connection to hot summer as opposed to this song, probably cause on that one Prince isn’t on the majority of the song. While I can appreciate him wanting to give others a shot, I buy prince music to hear Prince. But, I’ll take the music however it flows. If this is a part of a new album it will be very interesting to see how it all ties into the overall album. I’ll definitely get the single.

Posted at 16:49h, 17 OctoberWhisperingsoul, you are the reason I love and loathe the internet all in the same breath. It gives a small voice to anyone who wants to be heard. But then people like yourself come out of the shadows, anonymously, and show their true colors – or lack there of.
I hope you find peace of mind WS, but your obsession with Prince was not the problem, just a symptom of a much bigger problem.
By the way, looooooovvvvvveeee the song!! Thanks DrFB!

The only thing that is distorted is your perspective… If you R only always noticing the “bad’ or so called “Evils”, that is what something will represent to you…!

Posted at 02:10h, 17 OctoberTom, if only others cared about themselves more than they do for others. Could not even read all of it. Fairly obvious though, more thought put into writing that than than caring about their own life….
