31 Aug Tour News: PRINCE “Welcome 2 Chicago” Residency To Start September 24th!
With the news of Prince having a new guest drummer in Hannah Ford, we knew it wouldn’t be long until news of an upcoming tour would be happening. Within hours, “Welcome 2 Chicago” appears to be happening.
Prince reportedly will be taking residency at the United Center in Chicago starting September 24th and and with tickets going on sale September 6th.
The residency will also be used to support Rebuild the Dream, the organization founded by Van Jones that seeks to “build strong vibrant communities and to fix our economy from the ground up.”
“We couldn’t be more excited about partnering with a legend like Prince,” said Van Jones, Co-founder and President of Rebuild the Dream. “Our economic system is broken. Rebuild the Dream exists to unite arts and organize into a potent force to support the Dreams of Our Communities. There are few artists who have Prince’s unwavering commitment to a vision of a sustainable, fair economic future.”
Rebuild the Dream is a platform for bottom-up, people-powered innovations to help fix the economy not just here in the U.S. but Globally as well. Using 21st-century digital technology, we advance highly inventive solutions that are designed to protect and expand our communities, while creating pathways to prosperity for those who are locked out of it. Our goal is to put People back to work–and pull our communities back together.
There is already an on sale page set up for the September 24th show on ticketmaster.com

Posted at 11:56h, 02 SeptemberIt’ll be interesting to see how Chicago media covers the Prince shows. Chicago media(and, probably all other media) ignore those who ignore them. Since Prince won’t “prostitute” himself, Chicago media will probably ignore him……and the whole thing probably amuses Prince anyway……
