07 Aug Gold! George Michael To Perform At Closing Olympic Ceremonies!
George Michael has just confirmed the rumors and officially announced he is performing at the closing ceremonies of this years Olympic games.
George took to his twitter to express his nervousness about performing at the closing ceremonies and him have not been able to perform for over a year:
Obviously a bit nervous not having played for nearly a year, but rehearsals sounding great so far!
George has a life-threatening illness last year that left him with no voice and losing a considerable amount of weight. Aside from a press conference after his release where he thanked the doctors for saving his life, George has been pretty much out of the public eye. he does have dates in Australia set for later this year.
George has not announced which songs he will be performing but we have a feeling it will be jam-packed with his hits from the 80’s, and 90’s, and hopefully a never before released song….because as much as I LOVE George, that last song was…..not even worthy of a bronze medal.
Are you looking forward to George Michael’s performance at the closing ceremonies?-DocFB

Posted at 11:09h, 15 AugustYes he did. He performed “Freedom ’90” and a new song. The problem with posting video of it is NBC is being REALLY tight with the copyright. Even the Youtube clips are disabled from links or embedding. Others that are up are someone filming the tv and it just looks bad. I did find some footage taken from someone who attended so will be using that footage to post.

Posted at 07:50h, 07 AugustI was never a fan of George Michael but good for him. Seems every British singer in in last 50 years is performing. I only am going to watch to see Queen tho.
