29 May With 1 Australian Concert Left, PRINCE Performs 2 Historic & Epic Shows
With only 1 show left in Australia, Prince performed 2 shows since his last main concert in Brisbane, one an afterjam that we hear was quite epic, and a 2nd secret show.
At the Brisbane afterjam, PRINCE & The NPG performed a funk-infused version of “Mutiny” with versions of “Insatiable”, “Scandalous” and a full version of “Adore” thrown in. If that wasn’t enough, he also performed “$”, “Song Of The Heart” and “Days Of Wild” for good measure. That does not even include him performing “She’s Always In My Hair” at the main show.
Then, Monday night, PRINCE performed a secret club show in Melbourne. You either got DJ Rashida’s Tweet about the show or were there as we are told only 70 to 80 people were in attendance for the show. Looking at the set list, Prince performed “Love 2 The 9’s” “An Honest Man”, “Tambourine” “Sexy Dancer” “Strange Relationship” a cover of “Oustanding” and “Rude Boy” performed by NPG singer Shelby J.
His 8th and final “Welcome 2 Australia” concert is May 30th. No Afterjam has been announced yet and we know the people who missed the secret show and afterjam (for shame) are hoping for 1 more afterjam so that won’t have to live with regret til PRINCE & The NPG come back to Australia again.
These shows sound amazing and a LOT of fun. Let’s hope there is more to DJ Rashida’s tweet about a soundboard recording of the Brisbane afterjam somehow getting out.-DocFB

Posted at 07:25h, 29 MayJazz Tyrril-Smart said it right: that Brisbane after show was definitely epic. I can forgive them for letting Andy McKee almost put me to sleep with three songs without Prince when the rest of the 2.5 after show was smoking hot! 🙂 Prince and the band were totally in to it, feeding off an excellent audience — John Blackwell was off the hook as well…. Very, very good show. One of the best Prince shows I have seen….

Posted at 06:49h, 29 MayI was at the Brisbane Aftershow & can confirm it was epic, legendary & historic. NPG Band members & DJ Rashida agree (comments via twitter).
As far as Prince vs NPG ratio is concerned the 3 hour after show was at least 70% Prince. I loved seeing him jump from the mic to keys to bass… It was brilliant!
I hope we get to download it 🙂

Posted at 06:20h, 29 MayOH MY GOSH! Those few people just witnessed, my dream show. I would love to see Prince in a small venue, no flashly lights, no bog crowd, dim light, experienceing the love, the sound, the beauty that is Prince and Shelby. I hope to one day, somehow, be witness to that! Wow they should feel honored.

Posted at 03:59h, 29 MayLast year in Europe the shows and pre/aftershows were epic. In Aussie imo….not so much. Too much NPG and too little Prince
