Wow. PRINCE and the NPG are in rehearsal for the Welcome 2 Australia tour!!! Ticket sales are BLAZING. What started as 3 shows is now up to 6. Australia, how many shows can U handle?
To begin every week of rehearsal, to get the rust off, PRINCE and the band jam one song for 30-45 minutes.
“The Dance Electric” in its original form with vocals will be one of the featured encore songs for the Welcome 2 Australia tour.

then to hear the sign of the times extended jam which was used as an instrumental jam at the end of the sott concert movie.
Man prince just rerecord and rerelease all those old jams for your newer fans to get, like extraloveable and dance electric etc. keep it phunky.

Posted at 16:51h, 18 AprilYou are entitled to your opinion but be assured of two FACTS. 1. A LOT of people LOVE when he does covers he makes them his own and what’s more he enjoys himself!! which for me is why he keeps doing what he’s doing and I don’t want him to stop.
Even though I know I can name list’s upon list’s of his own songs to make up many shows, but it’s so fun and surprising to hear “Take your time” by SOS for instance OMGoodness how can u not love it when he does that??! Oh well to each his own.
And 2. My dear haters Larry is NOT, I repeat NOT the reason this grown man chose what he chose and loves the God he loves. U R the ones that need to stay at home and not stink up our air with your negativity at the shows. Move on already there’s lots of people out there who do the filthy stuff that u seem so stuck in so please GO! We like being able to bring our children. Oh and if Larry is in the Prince mix (not just an opener) when they play here I hope they do “push it up” and “stand” and all the other fun funky tunes “whole lotta love” another cover I would love 2 C HEEHEE

Posted at 14:47h, 18 AprilOne thing I can say with certainty is while it’s cool that Larry Graham is in the mix with Prince as he’s such a legendary bass player and has a solid place in music history, I hope Larry plays Everyday People with HIS band as an opener and NOT with Prince.
I’ve had several people complain to me that Prince plays too many covers during his shows and I’d have to agree. With such a rich musical catalog as Prince has under his belt and looking back at his tours through the Lovesexy one, I’m kind of amazed at how in the early parts of Prince’s career, covers just weren’t much a part of Prince’s shows. For some reason, Prince has been doing more and more and more of them, kind of ignoring some of his back catalogue (the raunchier songs due to his devout Jehovahs Witness beliefs, thanks in large part to Larry Graham).
I’ll never forget wearing a Prince t-shirt from the Welcome 2 America tour in my gym and the receptionist commenting on it and saying she went to the show at The Forum. She told me that while it was very cool to see Prince, she was quite disappointed with the fact that he played so many covers. I asked her about it and she answered that she goes to a PRINCE concert wanting to hear PRINCE’s music and NOT a handful of covers.
I COMPLETELY AGREE.
