07 Dec Was Saturday Night Live Skit Insensitive To Rihanna?
This weekend, Saturday Night Live poked fun at Tiger Woods and the domestic violence rumors surrounding him with regards to his cheating. One problem; Rihanna, who had a domestic violence incident happen to her earlier this year was the musical guest.
Was it the smart thing to do to poke fun at a domestic violence incident that we know happened, even though it was denied, be shown when one of the biggest headlines of this year and of recent memory was with Rihanna and her being beaten by former boyfriend Chris Brown?
It may have come off as funny and it was the hot topic of the moment, but was it insensitive to Rihanna? Did they run the skit by her? Did they let her know that they were doing it? If not, it comes off as highly irresponsible by Lorne Michaels and the writers of Saturday Night Live.
Here is the skit below:

Posted at 17:23h, 07 Decemberpff i am soo sick of havin 2 walk on eggshells about everything (& nothing).
Domestic abuse is a serious thing but if Rihanna can pose with a black
eye for the camera’s (& do not tell me that a professional makupartist can not camouflage all that!) she knows exactly what she is doing.
If u go out – being Rihanna- u know u r going 2 get ur pic taken!!
I read that shortly after that she went back 2 the SOB that slapt her??
Come on!!??
Next time she is on the show they shouldnt do jokes about naked pix either???? aah what the… just dont invite her anymore to any show… that way everyone is safe ;0)

Posted at 15:44h, 07 DecemberMaybe if Rhianna treated it more seriously, we would too. But aside from that, no, totally unrelated, SNL was fine with it as-is, although I hear it wasn’t that funny (didn’t see it myself…)

Posted at 06:41h, 07 DecemberWhen I was watching this skit on TV Saturday night … it didn’t dawn on me to consider Rihanna’s feelings & how this could have been insentive to her … I thought the skit was funny and I laughed out loud when I saw it . I really don’t think that the folks at SNL thinks domestic violence is a joke … the Tiger Woods story is a hot topic and people are still talking about it. I have mixed feeling on this now … I guess it is just one of those things ( the skit ) that is funny but not funny ????
