Chicago Denied Olympics

Chicago was eliminated as host of the Olympic Games in 2016.

I didn’t think the U.S. had a chance until President Obama agreed to go to Copenhagen. I am still surprised they were not awarded the games.

What do you think about the Olympics and the United States not getting it?-Dr.FB

P.S. Congrats to Rio who will be hosting it!

It was no suprise to me when Chicago did not get picked . The sinceless crime there is all over the news and may have further tarnished the image of the USA . Maybe the next time in 2020 the USA will be doing better. Way to go Rio.

RdJ was the right choice. When was the last time the Olympix were held in South America??? NEVER. I’ve been 2 RdJ, & it’s a good location 4 such a monumental event. As 4 those talking about what this event would cost 2 host, let me just say that small & large business owners don’t share ur view. Hosting this event means TONS of cash 4 the host city, it’s residents & surrounding communities. Congratulations Rio!!!

Im rather happy that Chicago is not getting the Olympics. Way to expensive for the state and it really go into further debt. Think about the security costs! Not to mention trying to out do the Bird Cage!! China wasted abuncha of money that they are not getting a return on. Every body needs to take a step back on the spending when there isnt any real money out there jsut so called credit.

As much as I would love us to have it and for Obama to get “the win” on this one, I think Rio is a good choice.

I think with the state of our economy that we should feel relieved that we didn’t get it. Although it is still less than 7 years away and hopefully our situation improves in the meantime, the expenses for this event would start occurring now. That means the taxpayers would have to put up money for something that is not nearly as important as helping people find jobs, affordable housing, and being able to eat.

We all know it’s going to Madrid with the sob story from the former IOC President. I say more power to Madrid and have fun with it.

Chicago can try again for 2020. Maybe then the U.S. can afford it.
