Director John Hughes passed away today of a heart attack. His publicist released a statement a short time ago.
Hughes directed The Breakfast Club and many other 80’s cult movies. He will be missed.

I just have a few seldom-mentioned things to add…- Hughes wrote the spectacular National Lampoon’s Vacation (1983), which featured a score by Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac. The ridiculous guilty pleasure “Weird Science” by Oingo Boingo comes from the Hughes film of the same name.

me and my sis own a whole lot of his movies on dvd and they are among our absolute favourites. all i can say is thankyou to him for sharing those such great flicks with us. i’ll be sharing them with my kids also. r.i.p.
