18 Feb 12 go down to 3 with the results.
First up was Casey Carlson and Stephen Fowler to go home and my girl Alexis Grace is the first to make it into the top twelve. I have to say, making her sing her song after making it through is not as bad as making them sing after they get sent home, but it can’t be easy. All I know is that girl has so much damn soul in her for a twenty year old white girl. Like i said last night, Aretha is not an easy artist to cover, and as Ann Marie did a horrible job, Alexa made it look so easy.
Next Ricky Braddy and Jackie Tohn went up together and went home together. I’m a little disappointed by that result, but I kinda saw it coming. That third spot is a hard one to fill. Then Michael Sarver and Anoop Desai go together, and Michael went through. That was highly disappointing. I honestly thought that if it wasn’t Ricky, it would have been Anoop, but Michael? Don’t get me wrong, I liked him before, but I didn’t think he was nearly good enough.
To break up the humdrum of the results, they brought in Michael Johns and Carly Smithson to sing a song. It was so nice to see Carly again. I miss her, and look forward to seeing her new album later this year.
After that we have Ann Marie Boskovich, Brent Keith and Stevie Wright all go home in one fell swoop. And that leaves Danny Gokey and Tatiana Del Toro standing in the end. Knowing how the show works, I knew it would be up to them two. In the end, as I predicted, Danny made it through. I tell you, sometimes, when it comes to the stupidity of America and how they vote like monkeys on a typewriter, I get worried to see how things go. At least this time, they did a good job.
See you next week
