Paisley Rehearsal Image By LV

Early Saturday morning of July 7th, we get a text asking if we can be at Paisley Park around 3 P.M. for rehearsal. We say yes! Although we didn't arrive til 4:30 P.M., PRINCE & The NPG moved back rehearsal until 7 P.M. for us. Joshua Welton picks us up from our hotel and sax player BK Jackson jumps in with us as we ride to Paisley Park. Josh says he is gonna drive slow since it is my first time driving with him. Later that night, when we were driving with his wife Hannah Ford-Welton, she asked if "I ever been in a race car before?" 2 different styles for sure! So me, Joshua, and BK get to the Park and the band is on stage and they all wave to me as Elisa walks by to take her place on stage. I look to my left and I see PRINCE and his hair behind me at the sound board. They then start to play. Spoiler Alert!!!!! Paisley Purple By LV

So PRINCE & The NPG performed at his Paisley Park studios this weekend. Friday night, it was a 2 song set with a dance party that followed. Saturday, it was an hour set then the dance party. Both night's performances were in the dark. The reason they rehearse in the dark is to test musicians skills under pressure. A few of them cheated with light-up computer lead sheets. :-) Overall, they did excellent. As some of you know, I was asked to come out to Paisley Park Saturday early that same morning. It came as a surprise. They wanted me there by 3 P.M. rehearsal but the earliest flight had me there at 4:30 P.M. I arrive with texts saying that the NPG pushed back rehearsal til 7 P.M. since I was not there. Seriously? Oh man. For the set list and more click here....

City Winery

PRINCE took over the George Lucas wedding this weekend and then performed late night at the City Winery. They did a livestream from the show of "Extraloveable", "Little Red Corvette" and went back during the final encore. Later that night/early morning, a rep for 3rdEyeGirl teased that Paisley Park might be opened this weekend for a performance.
