Verve Records will release
Moving On, the full-length debut from
KAN WAKAN, on June 3. The Los Angeles-based band recorded the collection with engineers
Darrell Thorp (
Radiohead, Gnarls Barkley, Atoms for Peace) and
Tom Elmhirst (
Arcade Fire, Beck, The Black Keys).
"Forever Found" above is Kan's latest single. The evocative song found an early fan in Jason Bentley, who played "Forever Found" every day for a straight week on "Morning Becomes Eclectic," airing on influential Los Angeles public radio station KCRW.
KAN WAKAN, which just wrapped up a month-long residency at the Echoplex in Los Angeles, will perform at the Echoplex/Origami/Spaceland presents showcase at SXSW on Wednesday, March 12. The band will also perform at the Universal Music Group, Highroad Touring, KCRW and Filter showcases. KAN WAKAN just played a show with Dr. Dog and Bob Mould at Noise Pop in San Francisco and also performed at FADER's CMJ party 2013.
