15 May PRINCE & 3RDEYGIRL Have “Electric” Opening Night in Birmingham! Set List & Reviews!
PRINCE & 3RDEYEGIRL just opened up their Hit & Run Part II UK tour in Birmingham playing a plethora of hits along with “What’s My Name” a hardcore fan hit and the unreleased “Electric Intercourse” and “Empty Room”.
It is being reported that during “Electric Intercourse” he would just say “Electric” over again but with no intercourse. Hmm.
I just stood 15 feet from Prince as he sang ELECTRIC INTERCOURSE for the first time in 30 years. What is life?

Posted at 12:48h, 20 MayAs to why Prince keeps playing ‘Play That Funky Music’, I quote part of the following verse from the song
“Now first it wasn’t easy
Changin’ Rock and Roll and minds and things were getting shaky
I thought I’d have to leave it behind
But now its so much better (it’s so much better)
I’m funking out in every way
But I’ll never lose that feelin’ (no I won’t)
Of how I learned my lesson that day
When they were dancin’ and singin’ and movin’ to the groovin'”
No matter who wrote it or who played it, this song by Wild Cherry has all the trappings and adornments of Sly and The Family Stone feel to it. It crosses creed, colour, and genre, and isn’t this what Prince and his music is all about as exampled by all those love his artistry.

Posted at 13:55h, 19 May“Play That Funky Music” as an encore? REALLY? Prince must really love that song. He’s put it into his set list for years. Could somebody please tell me why he loves that song so much. The set list was masterful because it was all PRINCE songs and no covers. That is, until the encore. If I NEVER hear Prince sing that song again (with or without Cody Breedlove), I’ll be so happy. Prince (and us as fans) deserve better. Out of all the songs in the Universe and Prince is fixated on “Play That Funky Music”. I just don’t get it. Otherwise, outside of the throwaway encore, the set list was absolutely perfect. Thanks to Prince for performing only HIS music. THAT is what the fans and audience TRULY want. xo

Posted at 05:09h, 17 MayPlease don’t use the word plethora to describe a multitude of Prince songs. The word plethora implies that there were too many of something to appreciate it. pleth·o·ra
ˈpleTHərə/
noun
1.
a large or excessive amount of (something).
“a plethora of committees and subcommittees”
synonyms: excess, overabundance, superabundance, surplus, glut, superfluity, surfeit, profusion”
Too many Prince songs? Impossible!

Posted at 05:44h, 16 MayThanks for posting my tweet bro. What a show!!!!! You may like to post that 3EG were joined by Cassy O’Neal on keyboards for a lot of the less rock-oriented songs, most notably on tracks like “1999” and “Controversy”. Lots of merch available too! 🙂 The first 200 people who got there early in the day were numbered and allowed to enter earlier and in numerical order. Not sure if that’ll happen at other arenas but it paid off to get there early.
