Andre 3000 As Jimi Hendrix Photo: Toronto International Film Festival

Andre 3000 is set to play Jimi Hendrix in “All Is By My Side”. The photo has been provided by the Toronto International Film Festival.

Despite the Hendrix estate not granting any of Jimi’s music to be used in the film, Andre thinks the movie will be a success….

“In researching him, I saw a lot of the paths that he went down were the same ones that I went down when I was a young kid. He did what he thought was right for his music. I always gravitated towards him. … This movie is the real s*** right here. I think people will learn things they didn’t know.”-DocFB

Diagnosis: Cool photo. Since we can’t hear Jimi’s music, Andre will really have to become him in different ways in the movie. It will be hard. Could you imagine Jamie Foxx as Ray Charles without Ray’s music being used and performed in the film?

    So Looking forward 2 seeing this movie BUT It’s a Shame Jimi’s music won’t be played in the Movie. Amazing photo of Andre 3000 playing Jimi LOOKS GREAT!!

    I am looking 4word 2 seeing this but not sure how it’s going work without music. I like the pix tho. It would have been cool if 3000 worked up sum original jams that have a close feel 2 Jimi’s stuff.
