26 Feb No Doubt Confirm No Tour; New Music Being Worked On!
No Doubt just confirmed DrFunkenberry’s story of yesterday that No Doubt will not be touring this year while they work on a new album.
Our source is very much on the inside but we also confirmed with Live Nation so when we published the story, we would not have them denying our story even though it was true.
No Doubt released an official statement today from the studio:
Hi Everyone,
Greetings from the studio in Los Angeles…Yes, that’s right, the studio!
While we were traveling the world last year promoting Push And Shove, Gwen mentioned she was inspired to write new music. In December, around the time of our hometown shows, we discussed the idea of starting 2013 by getting back into the studio together. We did so in January and the new music started flowing with unexpected ease. After spending three years recording the last album, this new pace feels incredibly exciting.
We have decided to follow our muse for the time being and focus on this new music that we don’t want to stop. So, we will be postponing our tour plans briefly while we endeavor to create something special and inspired. Our goal as a band is to share this new music with you as quickly as possible – both recorded and live on tour.
As always, thank you all for your kind words, incredible support and patience. We promise to keep you updated with photos and videos from the studio, so be sure to follow us on Twitter and Instagram to get the latest updates. We will see you soon!
Love,
Gwen, Tony, Tom, Adrian
No Doubt
The good news in all of this is MORE new music from No Doubt. I just hope that Interscope promotes the next record better. Yes, I said it. No Doubt was everywhere from the Teen Choice Awards to Kimmel. Everywhere. Interscope dropped both balls on “Push & Shove” big time.
No Doubt also has to make sure announcements for singles, performances, and even photos from the studio get out first in other places besides their Facebook Fan Page, Twitter, and Instagram. As much as that hits the hardcore fans, it is missing the others and a chance for their audience to grow. The Facebook Fanpage is the worst for artists because with Facebook trying to use their own search engine, the information rarely hits google anymore. It is frustrating as a fan of No Doubt and good music.
Here is hoping for some great new music to come from No Doubt and here is hoping that Dr.Funkenberry and the No Doubt community can help with that new music. We all would LOVE to see that.-DocFB
Diagnosis: Don’t need to Push & Shove to get a hold of me ND. Just saying.

Posted at 14:19h, 26 FebruaryI’ll agree that Interscope failed to give “Push and Shove” a whole-hearted promotional campaign but I can’t fault them because frankly it was a disappointing record. Especially when you consider how long they were away and the amount of time they spent in the studio trying to make something come together. I am a long time fan and have seen No Doubt live many times and I had very high (but realistic) hopes, unfortunately “Push & Shove” is largely forgettable despite several thorough start to finish listens. I wanted so deeply to love it but none of the songs grabbed me and demanded attention. I hope that they have truly reconnected with their muse and have hit a fresh fount of creativity because I want that old chemistry back between them, the exuberance and palpable energy they brought to every song.
