12 Apr Adam Lambert & Queen Announce 2 Headliner Shows & Ticket Details
The year of the Lambert cannot be stopped. After The Sonisphere Festival was cancelled, Adam Lambert & Queen have now announced not one but 2 headlining shows in the UK.
Lambert, who’s “Trespassing” album drops May 15th, will perform with Queen in London July 11th at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo July 11th and 12th. Tickets will go on sale April 18th with Queen fans getting first dibs with a 24 hour ticket pre sale for the concerts. Also, Sonisphere bookers will get a crack the day before on April 17th to make up for the festival cancellation.
Queen released this statement regarding the announcement:
“Queen acted immediately in looking for an alternative venue in an aim to avoid disappointing all those fans who had so desperately looked forward to seeing them at Knebworth. Coming in the lead into the Olympics, most of the venues they first approached were unavailable, being taken as official London Games 2012 venues. As the setting of some of the band’s best remembered concerts, the idea of returning to this historic Hammersmith venue really appealed to them.”
Brian May added:
“We had made up our minds to play in the UK this year, so play we will! Following the collapse of the Sonisphere organisation we didn’t want to let down all those people expecting to see us live!”
Queen still plans on playing 2 more shows with Adam in the UK this summer with the dates to be announced soon.
Adam has a lot on his plate but it seems he likes it that way. We obviously cannot get enough.-DocFB

Posted at 07:12h, 12 AprilThis is great news for those Queen and Adam Lambert fans who were so disappointed that Sonisphere was cancelled. My understanding from this article is that Queen is performing July 11th and 12 at the Hammersmith Apollo which will mean Moscow is still a go and the gig with Elton at Kiev, Ukraine. So that makes 4 shows but this article also states two more shows are scheduled this summer with Adam. That makes six right? Someone pinch me please.
