21 Feb Stephen Colbert Returns To Show After Mother Has Health Scare

“The Colbert Report” suspended operations last Wednesday with no real reason why. Comedy Central stated that it would be in repeats until further notice. Stephen Colbert returned to the show Monday and addressed why he was away.

First, he talked about rumors of the FCC pulling him off the air.  At the end of false rumors, he said “apparently having 11 children makes you tough as nails.”  Colbert was speaking of his 91-year-old mother, who took ill last week and he took time off from the show to be by her side.

Colbert is the 10th child and is very close to his mother.  Aside from a statement Friday night on Twitter that said “”My family and I would like to thank everyone who has offered their  thoughts  and prayers,” Colbert writes. “We are grateful and touched by  your concern.”

We are glad Stephen is back on the air and that his mother’s health has improved.-DocFB
