15 Jul “Purple Rain” Trending On Twitter More For Justin Bieber Than For Prince?

As some of you may be seeing lately, Purple Rain has been trending on Twitter frequently. Although it is Prince’s song, it has been trending because of Justin Bieber for some reason. The Biebs is a HUGE fan of the song “Purple Rain” and although he does not thank him at award shows, Justin hopes to have the longevity that Prince has had in the music industry.
So, why is it trending for Bieber? Justin’s fans, you know, the ones with Bieber fever, find interesting ways for Justin to trend on Twitter after Twitter banned Justin Bieber’s name from being a trending topic. Justin’s favorite color is purple, like Prince. Also, at Justin’s shows, during sound check, a majority of the time, the band plays “Purple Rain” for Justin.

We all know that Prince has done more for “The Color Purple” since Alice Walker and we know his fans can’t be outraged over a teenager obsessing over Prince and then his fans obsessing back over him, right? I think it’s quite cool that his music is still touching base with teens like it did with me.
Maybe, just maybe, if Prince himself wants to trend on Twitter, maybe, just maybe, he should join Twitter and get an official Twitter account. Ahem. That would be like “A 2 piece with a biscuit” Prince.-Dr.FB

I think it’s cool that he’s opening up the song to young fans who otherwise, probably would never of heard such a song, let alone any of Prince’s tunes. My 12yr old dressed up as Prince one day for a Jr. High Hero/Shero project. The teachers LOVED it, but some students were wondering who she was. Once she told them, only a handfull knew who Prince was, but it’s all good. My baby schooled them on the man. =) But Yes, Justin Bieber, Whatever you do, PLEASE DO NOT REDO PURPLE RAIN. Some songs should never be touched. And we known, there are far and few who can touch a Prince song and do it Justice.

Nevertheless, I am OK with young people liking Prince’s songs. His music is of the kind that remains. Whenever possible, my daughters come with me to his concerts. Great.
