13 Dec Listen Up: Prince Interviewed on 103.5 KTU Radio This Morning
Prince continued his pop-up appearances this morning on 103.5 KTU radio. He stopped by to talk again about his upcoming shows in New York and New Jersey, part of his Welcome 2 America tour.
It was early for the purple one – he asked for coffee and after compliments from the hosts on how young he looks, Prince remarked “Some days I look 156”.
Prince also indirectly referenced the cancellation of the first New Jersey show which was supposed to be tomorrow. He said, “I just wanna say if there’s any delays with the shows to just expect us to make up any dates that we might miss and please, everybody show up. It’s gonna be amazing.”
Late last week, we got word on the special guests that are expected to join Prince in the Big Apple:

Posted at 15:11h, 18 DecemberWent to Friday’s show at the Izod Center, & it was amazing. Been a fan of Prince for 20 years but had never seen him before. Am also lucky enough to be going to Saturday’s show at MSG (got tickets for both shows the minute they went on sale).
Also, there were many tix on sale on StubHub for last night’s show, and for tonight’s – and some are well below face value. Even if the StubHub sale deadline has expired for a show, if you’re in the NYC area it might be worth it to head to the Garden the night of the show; there may well be people who had last-minute cancellations and are looking to sell.
Not sure if the Prince MSG shows on 12/29 and 1/18 are officially sold out yet, but even if they are you can try the methods above.
Can’t wait to see what songs he plays tonight!

Posted at 09:39h, 16 DecemberTHE SHOW WAS FREAKINGGGGGGGGG AMAZING!! got to see Prince for the 1st time last night, HE LOOKS GREAT IN PERSON. I also noticed that he looks in shape too, seen some muscles, he must work out or something. Its better seeing him perform in person rather than on videos/TV :D.
If you peeps can check out a show, please do, b/c u really do not want to miss out!!! THAT IS AN ORDER & ITS A REQUIREMENT!!! LOLOL!!!

Did Prince ever say he was a perfect man or never makes a mistake in his speech and can perfectly bridle his tongue, and actions for that matter? NO! That’s who Jesus hung wit, people who needed a doctor not those who were self righteous n thought they were perfect n didn’t need changin/savin.

It’s easy to point fingers outside yourself rather then face that which rides you like the beast that is the coat of flesh you trap yourself within. Prince does need that coffee. He needs to wake up.

the best part of the interview for me was him clearing up his work on Stand Back by Stevie Nicks. He said he programmed the drum machine but didn’t mention playing keyboards like I had been told. Well, it came from his own mouth so I guess he’s right! lol Every radio interview should take texts from fans… that way you get GOOD QUESTIONS.

Prince needs to do some more TV spots. National and Local spots too. Prince should go on “Good Day NY” or PIX Morning News, NY1 or any of the local stations here in NYC. Prince needs to invade ALL forms of media while here in The Big Apple!

I was there too and totally agree with you. The sound at Hard Rock was terrible. It was the worst concert I have ever been to and I have been a Prince fan for 25 years. What was the big snaffoo at the superbowl performance?

I went to the pre-superbowl concert at the Hard Rock and read online how state-of-the-art their sound system was. Turned out it was the worse sounding concert I’ve been to and vowed to never return (horrible echo off the walls, way too many speakers for such a small venue). Not sure who was responsible for that, but I did see a few concerts since then at the Hard Rock and the sound was awesome…
