25 May U2 Cancels Glastonbury & Postpones U.S. Tour
Glastonbury fans expecting U2 to play the festival on June 25th are going to be disappointed as they had to cancel as Bono is recovering from emergency back surgery last week.
“I’m heartbroken,”said Bono in a statement. “We really wanted to be there to do something really special – we even wrote a song especially for the festival.”
Also, the U.S. tour that was set to kick off this summer will now be delayed and 16 shows will be pushed back til 2011.
This tour is set to be one of the most expensive tours ever and this push back is going to hurt U2 and Live Nation’s bottom line.
Bono has been released from the hospital but has to do 8 weeks of rehab, which is why the performances were cancelled.
Lenny Kravitz was supposed to open some of those shows for U2 and we tried to reach Lenny’s camp for comment but were unavailable at this time.-Dr.FB
