Posted at 17:45h, 26 FebruaryI remember when people would cry if they didn’t get a b-side now its not worth their time.
I think it is a fun one and look forward to more – hopefully there will be more 😉

Posted at 17:42h, 26 FebruaryMore and more of the same semi-Jehovah lyrical preaching and Musicology sound of ’04. Super-yawn.
I do like the beginning, had promise, then the fast beat threw me off, then although I appreciate finally a fast paced song from the “cat”, he needs to “chill” it on the cheesery.
In the end, I think Prince really wanted to be part of the 60’s.
Fams will gush over this, and will sign up with anything he does. Same ole, same ole.

Posted at 15:56h, 26 FebruaryThis is a track only a Prince fan could like. I don’t hate it but it’s not exactly what I call good. My barometer of a good song is “could or would someone cover it.”? I will listen to it but only because I listen to everything Prince records from “Purple and Gold” to “Wedding Feast” to “On Sale Now” to “Keep Steppin”. However; this is not something that would ever get played on a top 40 or even top 1000 radio station. It’s just very blah!
I would also like to amend Cooper’s statement a bit. I’ve been thinking this for quite some time now. It is not that music doesn’t come easy to him anymore because quite obviously it does. He sh*t out gems like “Purple and Gold” and “Cause and Effect” with relative ease. Remember when Prince or his girlfriend of the month used to tell stories of Prince not being able to sleep or waking up from a dead sleep because he “had a song that just had to come out”? What about the notion that the sound of brushing his teeth sounded like a song and he had to drop what he was doing to record it. Back in the day, back when Prince was on fire he HAD TO RECORD songs! It was almost like a curse. It was like the song was burning in his head and if he didn’t “put it down” (record it) it would drive him mad. Now he records music just like most of go to work. That’s what you do, you just get through, teach your lesson, collect the garbage, run those cable lines, sell that insurance whatever…. He records because he can, its what he does. I don’t feel he has ANY inspiration, either positive OR negative. There is NO WAY THIS SONG WAS BURNING in his head while he was trying to shave. He recorded it because he was bored or wanted to test out the new gear in Paisley or try out a new engineer or it was just too damn cold out. Who knows? This is not the Prince I fell in love with. However; I still love him to death and would listen to an album of him burping the alphabet but that says more about me that it does him. Until the next time.

Posted at 12:06h, 26 FebruaryI love it. Some of you all are still stuck in the past instead of being “here” in the now, it’s called the PRESENT. I am here, where are you?

Posted at 12:04h, 26 FebruaryIt just doesnt have that “sonic explosiveness” of his past work if anything it is rather dull coming from an instumentalist of his caliber. Someone here spoke about songs and structure and made a very valid point.

Posted at 11:54h, 26 FebruaryDreadful and utterly boring. When I research the term “has-been” online, I see Prince’s face.

Posted at 11:17h, 26 FebruaryThis song is a major disappointment. The music I enjoy, the lyrics / vocals leave a great deal to be desired. My heart breaks for Prince.. He has allowed other flawed, flesh-and-blood beings to corrupt the gift that God has given him, using his love of Jehovah as a weapon. I don’t know if he can get it back. I’m only grateful that their influence can’t affect his musicianship. He plays with every ounce of talent that God bestowed upon him.. Let’s hope they never find a way to make him believe that his hands are a pagan tool.
