And The SAG Award Goes To…

The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards took place in Los Angeles last night.

In the TV categories, Mad Men won for best drama series ensemble for the second year in a row.

“Glee” was also recognized, winning best comedy series ensemble. And “30 Rock” swept the best actor in a comedy series category with both Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey winning awards. “SAG is the heaviest of any award,” Fey said. “It weighs 100 pounds!” Fey went on to confess “I really, really expected to lose.”

In the TV drama category, the SAGs echoed the winners from the Golden Globes last week: Julianna Margulies for best actress award for her role in “The Good Wife” and Michael C. Hall won for his leading role in “Dexter”.

On the film side of the fence, Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds) took the first statue for best supporting actor…

Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey of NBC’s “30 Rock” won for best acting in a comedy series, while the award for best actress in a drama went to Julianna Margulies of CBS’ “The Good Wife.” Gloden Globe winner Michael C. Hall of Showtime’s “Dexter” won best actor in a drama series.

The evening’s first film acting trophy, for best supporting actor, went to Christoph Waltz for “Inglourious Basterds.”
