I couldn’t put my finger on it at first but as I listen again I hear a “no window dressing” Prince singing his heart out…its real…transporting me back to the day when rock bands practiced in the garage waiting for their first big break.
Of course, the dichotomy is the musical accompaniment which is polished, splendid and superbly delivered.
And I think that’s why I like it. Its the old with the new…imperfection wrapped in supreme perfection, completely disambiguous.
