Paula Abdul

Paula Abdul announced on her Twitter page that she is leaving American Idol as they could not come to an agreement on her contract with Idol.

Paula had this to say on her official Twitter page.

 

With sadness in my heart, I’ve decided not to return to #IDOL. I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all..Cont’d…

I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent,but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day1become an international phenomenon.

What I want to say most, is how much I appreciate the undying support and enormous love that you have showered upon me

It truly has been breathtaking, especially over the past month

I do without any doubt have the BEST fans in the entire world and I love you all

That is some crazyness right there. They brought on the new chick last year n throw Ryan Seacrest a boatload of money. You knew that Abdul would not take a paycut. Wonder if this will effect the chemistry of the show.-Dr.FB

    Paula was the second best judge for the sole reason that she has some semblance of a personality… now the show is going to be even more dependent on Simon

    Well, I for one found no enjoyment in suffering through Paula’s incoherent commentary and critiques. She will not be missed and I actually believe the show will be the better for it. At least all three judges now, providing they don’t bring in a new fourth, will have knowledge and know what the hell they are talking about. I’m not a fan of Kara’s either, but at least she’s coherent.

    In a way I’m sorry to see her go (don’t care much for Cara DioGuardia), but Paula seldom gave useful constructive criticism which, wasn’t helpful. I’ll miss those “WTF did she just say, she must be high” moments but, overall, she was often (IMHO) about as useful as tits on a bull.

    That’s not cool at all. She balanced everything between Simon and Randy and I’m going to miss her and her craziness. Kara is extremely lame and I had a feeling that she was brought in to push Paula out. I might stop watching Idol because of this.

    The public will be raving over the next judge and will quickly forget Paula. They have to switch about, makes the show stale otherwise

    It will totally affect the chemistry.. I haven’t watched regularly in a couple of yrs (probably since Prince and The Twinz were on..) but I have seen the new judge (didn’t like her much).

    Though I bought her albums back in the day, I’m not some diehard Paula fan, but I thought she brought balance and fairness — and the experience of a performer — to the judging process.. I don’t think it’s gonna last long w/o her on the show.. in my humble opinion, the “talent” since Fantasia’s win just hasn’t been worthy anyway.

    I was considering watching this upcoming season (I didn’t last), but without the suspense of “Is Paula gonna make it through this show without nodding off?” or “Will her next comment make any damn sense??” I don’t think I can be bothered.

    awww dang that sucks..i really like paula on idol….i can’t stand karen dijourdi and her jacked up finale song..
