I’m just wondering if the majority of condolences are coming from outside the U.S. I think what is being demonstrated here is collective insanity. But whatever, God bless you all. Leave Britney alone. yada yada yada. My 14yo daughter has no clue what all the “I can’t hold back the tears” stuff is about, and neither do any of her friends. I think the only reference she has of Michael Jackson was molestation trial and subsequent payoff of the victims’ families. I liked Michael Jackson when I was a kid, but I also liked to pretend I was a superhero at the time, loved Miami Vice, and I ate my buggers. People grow up and get perspective, and I hope this is not lost here.
micheal jackson you are a good rocking legend of singing. i love your music.when i heard you died i didn,t know wat to do …
p.s. i love your rock singing music and i will always love it no matter wat.
rest in peace i pray for your family i tried to dance like u but i can not i tried to sing like u but i can not i love u RIP U DERSE IT

I have so many great memories of Michael. I tried to sing like him, I wanted to dance like him, I wanted his clothes and I wanted his hair so I could look something like him. I remember I was 8 when my Mom brought me the Bad album, I held the album in my hands and stared at it for 10 mins before I finally played it and I loved it. I played it everyday for close to a year. I am missing the man more than I thought I would. He was the very beginning for me to love music. His music will live on from now untill the end of time. My prayers go out to MJ’s family and friends and fans.
Rest in Peac Michael. You deserve it.

I can remember begging my Mom to let me stay up late on the night he performed on the Motown 25th Anniversary special and first did the moonwalk. It changed my life and inspired me to dance. Then again, years later I won tickets to see him perform in 1984 at Dodger Stadium on the Jacksons Victory tour and was completely blown away at his ability to pull the 50 thousand fans onto that stage. He inspired an entire generation to dance and sing, and for that I will always be thankful for him.

There’s only so much one can take ….. but there’s little anyone can really do. Michael touched to many kids, and he annointed himself the “King of Pop.” He made millions, and squandered millions; leaving millions of debt for those left behind. What was going on in the mind of Michael, once can only guess with the pornography, Jesus juice, and pain pills.

There’s much one can take…and there’s little one can do. Michael has touched the lives of many generations, and made a difference in humanity. Michael has came across numerous confrontations with the media just for being who he was and caring for the younger kids. The King of Pop earned his title through countless dedication towards mankind, even giving up his childhood to produce music which we embrace today. What was going on in the mind of Michael we shall never know but who he was always reflected in his smile, eyes and personality. You was a man of peace and respect Michael and so I bid you a Respectful Rest In Peace. Your legacy and fame will live on in our hearts, mind and soul. Thank you for your time, your heart, your kindness, dedication and for making a difference. We love you always Michael J Jackson.

kept waking up during the night….sort of going over it in my head….is it true….like I was waking from a bad dream…but it’s not a dream. The only solace I can find is that he had an incredible gift which he seems to have come here to share….AND HE DID….he moved the world with his gift…. and now I hope, truly, that he is resting in peace. Love and prayers for his family and children. xo Michael and thank you…

My heart goes out to all the parents of the kids touched by Michael. Also, impending conflict w/ N. Korea and billions of dollars spent by Congress on legislation that very few ever read …. all this will be set aside for weeks so we can see specials on Michael Jackson. Fantastic.

All day I have been pretty much at a loss for words. I still don’t really know what to say, but I feel the need to try to express something.
Michael Jackson… I mean wow. When you hear the name you automatically think about the dance moves, the amazing stage set ups, the outfits… and a voice. A voice that in songs like This Time Around” he sounds rough and ready to take on anybody who crosses him wrong. But then skip to a track like Heal the World or Man In the Mirror and you hear a sweet, smooth voice that carries sincerity, love, and a level of compassion that you wont find in most humans today.
I love music… LOVE music. I’m trying to make it part of my life on a new level. It’s always been a big part of my life and it actually all started with Michael Jackson. My father was the one to introduce me to his music when I was probably no older than 4 or 5. I remember trying to learn many a dance move and attempting to perfect the moonwalk (as perfect as one who isn’t Michael can get).
To the memory of Michael Jackson:
I want to thank you, Michael, for 23 years (for me) of music that has had an undying, unmatched influence on my life and my love for music. I want to thank you for being the compassionate human being that you were. You will always remain in our hearts and memories as one of the best performers/entertainers to hit a stage. You broke barriers that paved the way for those who followed you in the business of music, especially for African Americans.
You, Michael, are one of a kind. We love you, always.
To the Jackson Family:
I am so very sorry for your loss. All of you are in my prayers and my heart goes out to you. I’m sure you know that Michael was loved beyond words by his fans, and our support extends to the entire Jackson family at this difficult, sad time. God Bless.
My condolences to the family, loved ones of Michael as well as his fans around the globe.
Today I was at the salon getting my hair done and the stylist and I were discussing music. And a Michael Jackson song came on and I mentioned how they don’t make em like they use to.And she agreed! It wasn’t 30-45 minutes later that she came to me and said “I don’t know if this is true or not and it’s kinda weird since we were just talking bout him…but they said Michael Jackson died”It was like a tinge of fear that went thru me!And I said to myself”I hope that it is not true!” But after leaving the salon and responding to a text concerning this matter I walked into a store and you could hear people all over in the store in different aisles talking about it or calling someone up to tell them.I can honestly say that I have never experienced a moment like that before and it was very surreal.I am deeply sadened with the loss of Michael.I had always hoped to be able to see him perform live or to work with him. But I am grateful for the things that he has given me over the years! He will be a part of me always! Rest in peace Michael.God Bless

I accepted it when the news was confirmed, but it didn’t hit me until I saw the video for “Stranger In Moscow” on BET….(all of his music-especially the Dangerous album- but in particular) that song kept me from giving up in my adolescence. There are entire swaths of my teenage years from 14-17 that I only made it through because MJ “was wandering through the rain” like me….Michael’s music gave me answers to life that I couldn’t find anywhere else….answers that I needed to survive. I anticipate I will spend (at least) the next few days engaging in various forms of head-shaking.Â
It’s tragic that such a spirit, someone who brought light to so much of humanity and history, was housed in a body unable to sustain its beauty; there is cruel irony in many of life’s truths. That he received the attendance of angels just before he could return to the stage and add some balance in favor of respect for his talents to the scales of public opinion that too often tipped toward ridicule, vain snark and derogatory, tasteless innuendo is a thought that thoroughly numbs me.Â
I never met this Royal One who reigned over the kingdoms of music influence and innovation (inspiring many princes of dance, princesses of video, dukes of perfectionism, lords of genre-defying production, and ladies of lyrical ingenuity, yet never being dethroned- that is to say, surpassed in achievement or ability to excite….never truly abdicating his calling), made colors irrelevant in the appreciation and distribution of music, became the fulcrum of musical expression’s climb toward limitless expectations and possibilities and connected the cultures of our race in ways that made us better humans. However, I choose to trust that he always knew the impact he had on well-wishers like me and therefore will not be saddened that all I can give to MJ is humble, fervent, continuous prayers that his children have a stable, healthy environment to continue thriving within…. that those he could specifically love are able and willing to lead them into an adulthood defined by well-adjusted, kind, tolerant, intelligent personalities; that in whatever way each deems comfortable, they can be their dad’s legacy and thus be light where there is darkness.   Â
I ( as anyone else of my generation) grew up with his music and he’s not longer with us now.
Paryers and thoughts go out to his 3 childeren and The Jackson Fam.

Someone wrote in on twitter to CNN — “You read the blogs, hear the news, see the words MICHAEL JACKSON DIED. But it just can’t be true.” It’s been an emotionally exhausting day. I’m in shock and I still can’t wrap my mind around the idea that Michael Jackson passed away today. How do you deal with losing a super-icon of our generation??
For me, one of the many special things about MJ was that EVERYONE was touched by his music no matter what genre they usually listen to. Everybody’s got a favorite MJ song and a special memory behind it.
How many of us out there stayed up and popped some popcorn with friends and family to watch the world premiere of THRILLER???
My prayers and thoughts go out to the Jackson family.
Michael Jackson (1958-2009)
Thank you for the music…
May You Rest In Peace.
