23 Jun GLAAD Responds To Perez’s Anti-Gay Slur Towards Wil I Am

glaad_logoGLADD, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation has come out against Perez Hilton and his comments where he used a derogatory gay slur word several times against Wil I Am.

Perez admitted he used the word to set Wil I Am off and piss him off.  Rashad Robinson, GLAAD’s Senior Director of Media Programs issued this statement:

“These are vulgar anti-gay slurs that feed a climate of hatred and intolerance toward our community. For someone in our own community to use it to attack another person by saying that it is, quote, ‘The worst possible thing that thug would ever want to hear,’ is incredibly dangerous. It legitimizes use of a slur that is often linked to violence against our community. And it sends a message that it is OK to attempt to dehumanize people by exploiting anti-gay attitudes.”“We have reached out to Hilton and asked him to apologize for promoting this anti-gay slur, and we would ask media outlets to avoid repetition of the slur in their coverage of this story.”

I just want to state that I have bleeped out Perez’s use of the word F***** and it has not been used on this site.  I could only wonder what would happen if  Wil I Am said that to him?

You all know that before Perez was Perez, he worked for GLAAD?  Very interesting.

What do you guys think?  Should Perez apologize for his comments?  Do you really think he was  in the right to say them?-Dr.FB

    As a gay man, I have no sympathy for what Perez did and GLAAD was totally in the right to condemn him. He wouldn’t want to be called that word yet it’s ok for him to call will.i.am that. will should file charges against Perez for using that word on him. Perez is nasty, pure and simple. He doesn’t represent me as a gay man.

    Perez is wrong. How can you condemn people for being “anti-gay” like Miss California when you use words like that yourself?

    Perez wants to be this person for gay rights. He is setting back the gay movement years. Posting photos of a director having sex bareback with his gay lover. Classless.

    The guy is a fraud and I loathe him. These celebs that kiss his butt are scared of him and shouldn’t be. He is still going to diss them. Total 2nd grade level intellect and he proved it last night.
