26 Feb Prince Concert News; Feb. 28th Show In L.A.

This is an update of the story from Tuesday about the Icon, PRINCE playing a benefit concert for Tavis Smiley’s  Annual State Of The Black Union Symposium.

We found out a couple of hours ago that the show will be at the Conga Room In L.A. at the Nokia Center. (We took a while to post to make sure everything was on the up n up.) The show is scheduled to start at 8 P.M.

Tix will be $300 (seated) and $150 (standing room general admission) and there is a 4 ticket limit.

I have never heard of this site before but went through it all without purchasing the tickets. It seems secure but be careful is all I can say.  Anyone wanna pick up my ticket tab? =-)

Please keep in mind, it is a benefit concert. Hope some of you can attend in this economy.-Dr.FB

    Prince’s show at the Conga Room Sat 2/28/09 – Yeah .. all I can remember .. all I can think about .. is when he threw his guitar in to the crowd and after a few seconds of fumbling and tossing .. it landed in my direction .. right within in my grasp .. for a moment, I couldn’t breathe .. I couldn’t see clearly .. my eyesight became blurry .. I froze, my heart skipped a beat and when I opened my eyes there is was right in front of me and I grabbed it .. I caught it .. I held on to it for dear life .. for a moment I thought I was soooo lucky and so blessed to have this guitar in my arms .. there was a flash and I thought “I can’t believe I have his guitar” and then just as quickly as it came to me it was gone .. they took it back and gave it back to teh stage man .. Wow!! I was ‘DEVISTATED’ .. after that, I could not focus on the rest of the concert .. all I could think about was how I lost out from that ‘Glorious Moment’ .. After awhile though, I became more optomistic and said to myself .. ‘At least I had a chance to touch it’ and that was good enough for me I guess .. What a night though!! My spirits were lifted as the nite went on .. eveything that happened during the show could only lift me higher and higher!! .. This was, of course, a ‘Prince Concert’ and he and his band and Sheila E. were incredible to watch!! I will never forget that nite!! -Angel

    My right foot was numb for about 24 hours after the Gansevoort, NYC show. Enjoy yourselves. Wish I was there.

    I’m goiing to the show with a BIG Purse. I will bring a pair of flip flops! The last prince show I went to I stood iin stillettos for 5 hrs before he even hit the first note! Well worth it!

    Tavis Smiley announced on the SOBU that they found some extra seats for the benefit concert tonight. Looks like it will be a packed house. Get ready LA! Prince is going to bring the house down!

    I called the Conga room…they said capacity is 850 and the general admission tix allows you right up to the stage.

    Ok Dr….when do we think Prince will ACTUALLY take the stage….I have a work related gig and can’t get there before 10:30 or 11…..!!! You think there’s any chance he might not hit the stage til then???? Is it a full set??? Come on people….Prince at 8 or 9….won’t happen right??? Help a purple-funky-fan decide……

    Use the link I provided for purchasing tickets above as it is cheaper. That is the conga room price and I am sure at the door, they will be charging that much.

    I have been hooking you up with the price Tavis’s people pay. 🙂
